Impact of 4-H Youth Livestock Programs
According to research by Boleman, Cummings and Briers (2004), youth beef project participants are gaining at least seven life skills including.
- Accepting responsibility
- Setting goals
- Develop self-discipline
- Self motivation
- Knowledge of the livestock industry
- Build positive self esteem
- Decision making
We want to measure the impact of youth livestock programming here in North Carolina including knowledge gain as it relates to the Science and Health essential elements of learning as set by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.
