High pressure has moved offshore and has allowed for increasing low-level moisture from the southeast, with extensive cloud cover limiting ozone production while also allowing particle pollution to accumulate in the lower portion of the atmosphere to keep AQI Code YELLOW today. Particle pollution will likely remain elevated in the Code YELLOW range through Saturday afternoon as the Triad will remain in an unsettled weather pattern that should usher in periodic showers until a cold front pushes through from the northwest Saturday evening. Cloud cover should continue to limit ozone production to keep ozone AQI Code GREEN through Saturday. Dry high pressure builds in from the north Saturday night and through Sunday to drop particle pollution to Code GREEN, but clearing skies will allow for decent ozone production to elevate ozone AQI into the upper Code GREEN range by Sunday afternoon.
